The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is pleased to be able to ease its visitor restrictions for women attending 12 week antenatal scan appointments.
From Monday 24 August, one adult companion will be permitted to accompany those attending their 12 week pregnancy scans.
Heidi Beddall, head of midwifery for the Trust said: “We recognise the important role partners, family and friends play in supporting our women during their pregnancy and how significant each milestone is for all concerned. We are therefore extremely pleased that we have been able to implement robust safety precautions that enable us to support women we care for to bring a companion with them to their 12 week scan.”
Strict guidelines are in place to ensure any risk of infection is minimised.
