Refurbishment of the Trauma Building at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford is well underway. The unit was closed to in-patients in 2017, following the Grenfell Tower incident. A review of buildings within the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust identified cladding which raised fire safety concerns. Cladding has been removed and replaced and a refurbishment of the building is progressing. It is thought in-patients could return to the unit in November.
