Tens of thousands of eligible Buckinghamshire women are missed their last smear test, the latest figures show, amid warnings the coronavirus crisis has stoked anxiety over getting the health checks.
New research has found that delayed and cancelled cervical screening appointments have left 4 in 10 women feeling worried . Yet, while 40% would feel relieved to be able to go, as screening programmes across the UK are looking to recover, around one in eight women say they feel less likely to attend than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar numbers think it is best to put off going for cervical screening at the moment.
