Sunday Brunch guest on 26th May

Teacher Cathy Gaulter-Carter is the guest on John Reid-Hansen’s Sunday Brunch for 26th May.  

Cathy has worked in educational publishing and Oxfordshire libraries and is passionate about cycling and sustainable transport.

She was involved in the development of the Phoenix trail between Thame and Princes Risborough.

On the show, John and Cathy will be discussing two projects close to Cathy’s heart:  the Green Living Fair at Chinnor Village Hall on Sunday 2nd June which is linked to the Open Garden scheme, and where there will be a second hand bike exchange.

And the Big Bike Ride to raise awareness of the need for a Greenway between Thame and Haddenham.  Organised by Haddenham Safe Walking and Cycling Group, a three and a half mile circular bike ride will take place around Haddenham, starting at the Pavilion and going via the Village Green.

Sunday Brunch guest on 19th May

John Reid-Hansen’s studio guest on Sunday Brunch this week will be Sarah Higgs (pictured).

Sarah is the charity coordinator for The Footsteps Foundation which provides one to one help for children with neurological disorders.

The charity is based in Dorchester on Thames in Oxfordshire and its mission is to improve the quality of life for these children, enabling them to receive the intensive physiotherapy they need.

Sarah has worked at Footsteps since 2016 and deals with the day to day running of the charity. Her role includes dealing with the processing of grant applications, free shoes for those that attend Footsteps, fundraising events, supporting fundraisers and liaising with donors.

Sunday Brunch guest on 12th May

Sally Poulson will be talking to John Reid-Hansen about her life as a wheelchair user and her joint fundraising challenge with her daughter Emily during the month of May to push and run for 250 miles to raise money for Spinal Research.

Also on the show, John will have an update from Clare from Thame Town Council between 11.00 am and 12.00 noon

Sunday Brunch guest on 21st April

This week’s studio guest is David C Lawson. Having started in local radio, David moved onto BBC Radio 4 and from there he became a TV producer.

David is now an author and a keen supporter of several charities.

David Finch is John Reid-Hansen’s studio guest this week. David is a key member of the Summerfest and Winterfest team. He will be talking about the history of the events and how much money they have raised to support so many charities.

Sunday Brunch guests on 3rd March

John Reid-Hansen has a packed Sunday Brunch show this weekend with several studio guests.

Musicians James Winnicott and Mathew Parry will be talking about performing with a Pink Floyd tribute band on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th March at Radley College in Abingdon to raise money for the Footsteps Foundation.

Also in the studio will be Beki Osborne, CEO of The Sexual Assault and Abuse Support Service for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Beki will be talking about a music festival taking place on Saturday 9th March, with only female artists performing, to celebrate International Women’s Day. Profits from the festival will go to The Sexual Assault and Abuse Support Service.

John’s guest in the studio was Sue Hurst from Aylesbury Vale Concert Orchestra.

Sue was talking about a concert at the Waterside Theatre to raise money for the Florence Nightingale Hospice.

John’s guests in the studio today were Dawn Caffyn and our very own Catherine Jones.

They were discussing the book written by Dawn called Rodney’s Rescue.

John Reid-Hansen’s guest on Sunday 4th February was Dougie Young.  Dougie has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and talked to John about how this affects him and his family. Dougie also spoke about how he felt when he was presented with an award by Harry Hill.

Jacqueline Harding
New Book

 Jacqueline Harding was in the studio with John Reid-Hansen on Sunday 27th January 2024  to discuss her book “The Brain that Loves to Play”.

Jacqueline is a former BBC researcher and adviser to the government.  She is now a teaching fellow at Middlesex University and a leading expert in brain development through play.

Lovely home made Cakes

Noelle Loretta Williams was in the studio talking to John about this year’s Music in Elms Park, in Thame, as well as other projects she is involved in around the town this year.  She also brought in some home made cakes for the Red Kite Radio team.

She discussed A.D.H.D and autism and will return to the studio in the future to talk more on these complex subjects and many others.
