The organisers have posted an update on the famous Kop Hill Climb due to be held in September
“At a recent meeting of the Kop Hill Climb Organising Committee, it was decided that we would continue to plan to deliver the event on September 19/20 this year, subject of course to the then prevailing Government rulings. 2020 marks the 110th year since the first-ever Kop Hill Climb in 1910, so is another important milestone since the first revival of the event in 2009. It also offers us an opportunity to add to the £753,000 that KHC has raised for local good causes and projects over the last eleven years.
The booking system for applications to run the hill or display motor cars and motor bikes is now open for both pre and post-war vehicles. This is to be found on our website, www.kophillclimb.org.uk. Applications can be made in the knowledge that all monies are refundable if we are forced to cancel the event at a later stage. For the very latest news and updates on the special vehicles which have agreed to attend this year, please go to our Facebook pages.“
With the cancellation of so many local events, everyone is looking at a Summer empty of weekends we all took for granted. We have a little more wiggle room given that we are still five months away from the planned date. Let’s hope it’s enough!”
