On the 12th May every year we celebrate International Nurses Day but this year is particularly pertinent as it is not only when we can applaud our nurses working tirelessly in these unprecedented times but it is also the 200 year anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
The Florence Nightingale Hospice is a local, Buckinghamshire hospice charity based in the grounds of Stoke Mandeville hospital and with local shops to help with fundraising. The hospice provides a range of palliative and end-of-life care services to people in Buckinghamshire and parts of Oxfordshire and south Bedfordshire who have life-limiting illnesses.
