On Friday 30th November, Thame will be switching on their Christmas lights for 2018. Come on down to the town centre from 3:30pm onwards and join in the fun. We'll be there to cover the event and will be running a competition. See you there. More information at thametowncouncil.gov.uk/christmas You can see photos from the event at the Town Council's website: https://www.flickr.com/photos/thametc/albums/72157701078709032

Thanks to everyone who visted the Red Kite Radio stand at the Thame Lights Switch On event and had a go at our competition to guess how many hours we have been on air since we started broadcasting last June.

The correct answer was 12,720 hours and Linda from Thame was our winner - she was within 48 hours of the correct answer and wins a £30 dining voucher for The Black Horse in Thame

We're busy adding new features to the website and we've begun adding some specialist shows to the presenters pages so you can enjoy the shows again, catch up with what you may have missed and share them with your friends. We're using web radio and podcast services like Mixcloud and SoundCloud for this but hopefully, we'll have a full listen again service up and running.

So check out the presenters pages for Steve FoxChas Large, & Howard Bond for their latest shows or interviews.

New volunteers

By September 14, 2018

We recently put out a call on Facebook for more volunteer news readers and have had quite a few replies. Similarly we have had other volunteers respond to our ongoing call for help to run the station.

I'm please to say that several of the volunteers have passed through the first stages of auditioning for voice work and another is working to assist in Outside Broadcast production, with a view to future University education in Media Production.

Once they have been finally authenticated we'll reveal their names. Watch this space.

Thame Carnival 8th June
Haddenham Fete 8th June
Towersey Fete 24th June

We hope to cover these and other local events in the future and can do so with the help of volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer to work with our Outside Broadcasting team, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
