Buckinghamshire Council is continuing to help families with children and young people eligible for free school meals with a food voucher during the May half-term holiday.
Funded by the Government’s Local Support Grant, Bucks CC are providing a £15 digital food voucher which can be used at many supermarkets.
Councillor Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all our schools who have been supporting families over the summer term. It’s been a tough time for families as we gradually come out of lockdown, but our schools are not only providing them with a superb education but the extra back up they need.”
Steve Bowles, Cabinet Member for Communities added: “Our Helping Hand team continue to be available to direct people to the support that is right for them. This may be from the voluntary or community sector or direct from the council. If anyone is worried about food or warmth, and not sure what help is available, please contact the Helping Hand support line on 01296 531151 and someone will be there to help you. Alternatively visit the online directory https://directory.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/ to see what support is available in your local area.”
