Borrowers can heave a sigh of relief if they have books out on loan that are overdue for return and may have been putting off bringing them back because they are worried about the amount of fines they might have to pay!
The fines amnesty which covers outstanding loans for items borrowed in 2020 has been extended until 30th September.
The library say that they are pretty sure that some people may have borrowed books that they have forgotten all about and that some people who have been shielding might have found it difficult to return their books since Haddenham Community Library re-opened on July 7th.
The extension period means that borrowers will have plenty of time to look for their books and bring them back. The library will waive all their fines and clear their account until September 30th as long as they are due on books borrowed in 2020.
The Haddenham Community Library is currently open on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm. They still have a number of books out on loan but the shelves are filling up nicely and there is a wide selection of books for both adults and children to borrow and enjoy!
They look forward to seeing you in the library. Do remember if they don’t have the book you want in the library when you visit they can check if it’s available elsewhere in Buckinghamshire. If it is, for a small charge, it can be reserved for you and brought to the Haddenham Community Library.
