If you were to walk, it would be 949 miles from the front door of Florence Nightingale Hospice to the centre of Florence in Italy, where Florence Nightingale was born 200 years ago on 12th May 1820.
To commemorate the 200 years since the birth of Florence Nightingale, we would love it if 949 people would sign up and walk a mile on 12th May as part of their permitted daily exercise, so that together we can walk from Florence to Florence in memory of the revolutionary, selfless, compassionate woman who founded modern nursing, and who gave her name to our Hospice.
Registration is just £2 per person per mile, and all the money will go to funding end of life and palliative care provided by Florence Nightingale Hospice, both in the Hospice and in people’s own homes.
Log your walk on Strava by joining the Florence to Florence group – we will send you the link to the Strava Florence to Florence team once you’ve signed up. Or, if you don’t want to use Strava, then message us on Facebook or email fundraising@fnhospice.org.uk when you’ve done it so we can add you to the total.
