Buckinghamshire Council have responded to protests staged by taxi drivers, who are unhappy about new measures taken to regulate their work in the county. One of the new rules is that all taxi drivers must pass an English language test. Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services, Nick Naylor, said that the Council was responding to statutory changes imposed by central government. He added that not all the changes were effective immediately, saying that the Council were working with representatives from the licensed trade to action feedback as the transition unfolds.
