Thanks to a Government grant of £500,000, Buckinghamshire based charity Medical Detection Dogs could play a part in detecting coronavirus.
Researchers at the London School Of Hygiene And Tropical Medicine will carry out the first phase of a trial to see if the dogs can detect the virus in humans from odour samples.
The dogs have already been successfully trained to detect cancer, malaria and Parkinson’s Disease. It is thought each dog could screen up to 250 people an hour.
