Oxford Brookes University has been given leave to appeal after South Oxfordshire District Council rejected its plans to build 500 homes in Wheatley. The University has a site in Wheatley but is looking to concentrate its operations in Oxford. The Council said it was disappointed by the decision of the Secretary of State to overturn a locally agreed planning process.
South Oxfordshire District Council’s planning committee had rejected the university’s application – against officers’ advice – to demolish current buildings and build the homes on the site in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, in November 2018.
